The beauty of fund-raising

Evesham Editorial 14th Dec, 2019   0

STUDENTS in Evesham hosted a charity spa day to raise hundreds for a mental health charity.

Beauty therapy students welcomed ladies from around the town to the spa at Evesham College and treated them to a day of relaxation and pampering.

The day raised £419 for mental health charity MIND and the trainee beauty therapists developed vital experience of working in an operating spa environment at the same time.

Treatments administered throughout the day included electrical facials, full body massages, scalp massages, manicures and blow-drys – with a lunch also provided by the students.

There was also a charity raffle held on the day with generous donations from businesses including a voucher for Hungry Horse, boiler services from Adrian Jankowski Gas, vouchers at Pizza Hut, cut and blow-drys from EWA Cierznia Ska and a bottle of prosecco.

Tracey Hobson, beauty therapy lecturer at WCG, said: “It was a wonderful day down at Evesham College and the ladies who joined us went away relaxed and with smiles on their faces.

“The day was led and organised, by our level three beauty therapy students and all counted towards their qualification, while raising money for a fantastic cause MIND at the same time.

“We would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who supported the raffle with donations, helping us towards our great fund-raising total.

“I was very proud and impressed with our students on the day and it is great experience for them, giving a real insight into what working in a spa will be like once they have achieved their qualifications.”
