FOUR-way temporary traffic lights which have been put in place at Abbey Bridge as roadworks are carried out will remain in place until Wednesday (September 28).

Planned work being carried out by Virgin Media, who are laying cabling along Pershore Road up to the junction with Cheltenham Road, as been causing disruption since work began yesterday (Saturday).

Drivers took to social media to voice their frustration at the delays as a result of the four-way temporary traffic lights.

It took one driver 40 minutes to get from Aldi on Swan Lane to the Abbey Bridge. It also took another driver one hour to get from Pershore to the Abbey Bridge.

On Saturday (September 24) Traffic backed up all the way through Hampton, from the Abbey Bridge through the town centre and up to Greenhill, and Cheltenham Road is suffering from long queues.
