BRITISH Transport Police have released an image of a man they wish to speak to in connection with an unprovoked attack on an Evesham teenager at the town’s railway station.

Officers launched an investigation after the victim – an 18-year-old man – was assaulted in the attack which began when he was sitting at the station at around 9.30pm on Wednesday, February 8.

A man got off the train, approached the victim and started shouting at him. The victim tried to run away but was cornered by the offender, headbutted and punched.

Investigating officer PC Thomas Greenslade said: “The victim in this case has learning difficulties, and, although this attack is not believed to be because of that, it has left him deeply affected.

“He is too scared to go near the railway station in case he sees his attacker. It is simply not ok for someone to be living in such fear as a result of an incident like this.

“Please help us find this man – we think he will be able to help our investigation – and help us get justice for the victim.”
