‘Tea for Tinnitus’ at Morton Village Hall raises £260

THE first ‘Tea for Tinnitus’ event held at Abbots Morton village hall has raised £260 for the British Tinnitus Association.

More than 50 people dropped in over two hours on Saturday, September 29. A variety of teas, cakes and a brunch of bacon and sausage sandwiches proved very popular at the event to help those who suffer from ringing or buzzing in the ears.

Melanie Clarke, chair of the village hall committee, said: “Tinnitus is a debilitating condition that affects one in10 people.

“We’re delighted to have raised some money to help those who suffer and to have made more people aware of the British Tinnitus Association, which gives advice and funds research.”

It is hoped Tea for Tinnitus will become an annual event at the hall.
