Sweet success ahead of Evesham festival

Evesham Editorial 5th Jun, 2015 Updated: 20th Oct, 2016   0

SWEET inspiration has been sourced for the 750 year anniversary of the Battle of Evesham.

David Chill, who owns the Traditional Sweet Emporium on Bridge Street has created a unique sweet with the recipe of wild strawberries and mints, to commemorate the famous battle of 1265.

Mr Chill is planning to officially launch the new strawberry flavoured boiled sweet with a soft mint centre, to reflect the popularity of the herb in the thirteenth century, and to coincide with the anniversary of the battle which commenced on August, 4.

However, before the launch in August, the sweet needs a name to represent its historic Worcestershire heritage, so Mr Chill is inviting Vale residents to visit the shop to suggest a title.

The winner will be presented with a large three kilo jar of the sweet and their chosen name will feature on the new creation’s packaging.

To enter, visit the sweet shop  until Friday, July 17 to complete a short entry form.
