We hope that over the festive period you will have the opportunity to visit our lively, historic town centre.
Our Penguin Trail features unique brick-built penguins hidden in shops, cafes, and hubs across the town centre and The Valley until January 5. Maps are available online or in the Tourist Information Centre.
We hope that you will find shops and businesses you did not know existed, that will attract you to return.
During this period, we will be preparing for another busy year.
An announcement about the redevelopment of the Riverside Shopping Centre is expected soon; once plans are made public for its replacement, we will be seeking to ensure that the heritage of the town is fully reflected in the design and layout of the area.
We will also be working to improve the public areas of the centre, to make it as attractive as possible to investors, in the hope that more of the empty properties are put to good use.
We very much hope that you will do your bit by supporting those businesses that are now established and any new ones that can be encouraged to move in.
