AN EVESHAM mum is hoping to make her son proud and raise cash for a children’s charity ahead of the finals of a major beauty pageant.
Nichola Brown was named Miss Worcestershire 2014/15 in the Miss Great Britain competition and will compete for the prestigious Miss Great Britain title in Leicester on November 13 and 14.
And the proud mum, known as Nix, to 16 month old Austin hopes to use her success to raise cash for Rainbows Children’s Hospice with a luxury charity raffle.
The former St Egwin’s and Prince Henry’s High School pupil lived in Peterborough with her partner Matt Stanway and
competed in Miss Peterborough in 2010.
But after the arrival of Austin in 2013, Nix and Matt moved back to the Vale and to St Matthews Close and have not looked back.
“We would like a similar happy childhood for Austin in this beautiful part of the country.” Nix said.
“I went to school in Evesham and have chosen to bring our baby up here as I have had a lovely childhood in this area and want the same for him.”
The kind-hearted mum was successful in the competition in August and now advances to the final of the popular contest.
And her efforts have been again been backed by local companies with One on One in Evesham sponsoring Nix on the next leg of her journey.
They are among a host of businsses to donate prizes to the raffle with a generous prize of six months gym membership.
Among the other prizes on offer include four tickets to Worcester Racecourse, a £40 voucher to spend on pizza at Pomodoro
Evesham and a lifestyle portrait with 10 images at Jamie Burrell Photography worth a staggering £250.
“I’m hoping to raise a lot of money for Rainbows Childrens’s Hospice so I’m really hoping the local community get behind their local girl with loads of support for me and my fund-raising.” Nix said.
