Supermarket offers Friday food slot

Rob George 18th Sep, 2021   0

COMMUNITY groups have been urged to come forward and receive help from Evesham Tesco’s Community Food Connection scheme.

The project asks every Tesco store to donate surplus food at the end of the day to charities and community groups. It uses an innovative app developed by social enterprise FoodCloud, to notify groups each night about the food available for collection.

Today, more than 7,000 groups are able to pick up free food from their local Tesco store.

Evesham Tesco donates hundreds of meals every week with regular collections from Wallace House, Adventure Playground and Caring Hands in the Vale.

No food fit for human consumption will be sent to landfill

A collection slot is available on a Friday evening for any local groups who wish to apply.
