COUN Sue Amor has taken the chains of office to become the new Mayor of Evesham, the first to be elected online.
The town’s first citizen was handed the role during a virtual zoom Mayor Making meeting for Evesham Town Council earlier this month.
Coun Amor succeeds Coun Mark Goodge who served an extended term of office due to the Coronavirus crisis.
She joined the council in July 2015 and has chaired the Planning and Estates committee for the past 18 months.
The retired school teacher has revealed her chosen charities for her year will be Wallace House Community Centre, Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust and Evesham and District Mental Health Support Services.
Coun Patrick Clifford was appointed deputy Mayor of Evesham during the meeting.
