Study finds high confidence in force

A STUDY has found Worcestershire residents have high levels of confidence in their police service.

More than 2,900 were interviewed by West Mercia Police over the last year.

According to the data, 82 per cent agreed they had confidence in the force and 65 per cent felt officers were doing a ‘good’ or ‘excellent job’.

Police and Crime Commissioner John Campion said: “I want to ensure the views of our communities are being listened to and being acted on.

“I am committed to making sure that people feel safe and that we are doing all we can to make improvements where needed.”

Deputy Chief Constable Amanda Blakeman said she’s pleased to see people having confidence in West Mercia Police.

“We know visibility of our officers remains hugely important to people, and with more than 200 additional officers joining the force this year, we are sure our communities will see a positive difference.”
