STUDENTS at Evesham College’s Acquired Brain Injury centre are celebrating after being awarded a Silver Gilt Certificate for their garden as part of Schools in Bloom 2016.

The students and staff were presented with the award by Mayor of Evesham, Coun Fred Kaler at a ceremony at Evesham Town Hall.

Anna Humphries, ABI Co-ordinator, started the ball rolling by accepting an invite by the Evesham in Bloom Committee to enter the ABI garden into the competition.

“Students began working on the garden back in April when the committee supplied us with a variety of plug plants, which our students spent many hours nurturing, along with plants which they grew from seed, in preparation for the planting of the garden,” she said.

“Students tended raised beds, vegetable plots and flower borders in preparation for the garden to be judged, working alongside the art students at the centre who created garden ornaments providing the finishing touches to the garden.”
