THE MET OFFICE has issued an amber weather warning for heavy rain for Evesham and Pershore with the arrival of Storm Claudia.
According to the forecast, rain will start around 1am tomorrow and there is a 90 per cent chance of heavy rain from 4am, right through to 2am on Saturday morning (November 15), meaning the deluge could last up to 24 hours.
The Met Office warns that homes and businesses could flood and there may be damage to some buildings.
Residents are being urged to take care as flooding is likely and fast-flowing and deep water could pose a danger to life.
Spray and flooding will also bring difficult driving conditions and road closures are likely.
Some communities could be cut off by flooded roads and public transport – buses and trains – will likely fall victim to delays and cancellations.
And there could be power cuts in very extreme cases.
