StarChip troops into batter

A POPULAR Evesham mobile chippy is set to ‘batter’ it out with two other businesses in a bid to become the best seasonal fish and chip operator in the country.

StarChip Enterprise has been named as a finalist in the best seasonal fish and chip operator award category in the 2015 National Fish and Chip Awards, organised by Seafish.

This relatively new award category aims to target fish and chip businesses that operate on a seasonal or mobile basis.

To get to this stage of the competition, the fish frying enthusiasts were judged across a variety of criteria including general

business practices, customer service, marketing activities and most importantly their fish and chip offering.

It’s another step forward for the thriving business which hit the headlines earlier this year for their kind-hearted support which ensured a local football team could continue to hit the back of the net.

Youngsters and volunteers at Badsey Rec Football Club, one of the oldest teams in the league, were on the brink of folding with no sponsorship.

But thanks to the generosity of Starchip Enterprise, the club kicked off the new season with a new strip and logo.

Starchip Enterprise will be up against Dodson’s Fresh Catch in Wakefield, West Yorkshire and The Jolly Fryer in Denmead, Hampshire in a bid to be crowned champions.

The three finalists will be invited to the awards ceremony at the Lancaster Hotel London on January 20 next year to find out

who will be ‘frying’ home as the winner.
