A HOSPICE in Worcester is appealing for businesses, schools, community groups and organisations to make it their charity of the year for 2025.
St Richard’s Hospice relies on fundraising, voluntary donations, gifts in wills, and retail income to fund the majority of its care and services.
Corporate fundraiser Ria Simons said: “We are indebted to our fantastic community for helping us raise the funds needed to continue our care across Worcestershire.
“Selecting us as your charity of the year for 2025 could be a great way to give back and make a real difference to the lives of patients and their families.
“It can also be a fun way to engage your colleagues, students and friends through creative fundraising projects during the year.”
Organisations can support the hospice in a range of ways, such as through office fundraising, holding an event, sponsoring or taking part in a hospice event, providing raffle and auction prizes, and volunteering.
In return, organisations benefit from dedicated fundraising advice and support, positive PR and brand awareness through the hospice’s channels, the opportunity for talks and presentations by the St Richard’s team, and much more.
Among the companies that chose St Richard’s as their charity of the year in 2024 was Waterman Aspen, an engineering secondment specialist.
The team at Waterman Aspen took on a host of fundraising activities including an office Halloween fancy dress day, sponsoring an act at Woo Fest music festival, donating auction prizes and entering a team into the hospice’s Paddle, Plod and Pedal challenge.
Staff also volunteered at the hospice’s donations processing warehouse in Leigh Sinton, near Malvern.
