Spring fayre to raise funds

AN EVESHAM spring fayre is being set up to help raise funds for the Worcestershire Breast Unit Campaign in memory of a lost loved one.

The campaign was initiated in 2007 by consultant breast surgeon Steven Thrush through the support of a small group of trustees and volunteers, with Jean New organising the fayre after her sister Eileen passed away at the age of 87.

The campaign target of £1.8million is to fund the establishment of a new dedicated breast unit at Worcester Royal hospital, for women and men across the county suffering breast related issues.

Mrs New said: “The only thing we want out of the spring fayre is for people to come along and enjoy the event, and whatever is raised will help Mr Thrush improve services for local men and women.”

The fayre will hold several activities including face painting, raffle, teddy bears and jewellery for sale and health information stalls with a light lunch being provided.

The event takes place tomorrow (Saturday March 21) from 10am to 2pm at the Wallace House Community Centre.
