Spot needs a new forever home

Evesham Editorial 30th Aug, 2019   0

AN ELDERLY dog has found himself looking for a forever home once more after his owner sadly passed away.

Spot, the 12-year-old Jack Russell Terrier, first came into Dogs Trust’s rehoming centre in Evesham as a youngster 11 years ago after being found as a stray but was soon rehomed. Sadly, he returned to the centre in May this year after his owner passed away.

Spot is the oldest resident at the Wickhamford rehoming centre and is now looking for a second chance at happiness and to spend his twilight years in a loving home.

Neil Barker, Rehoming Centre Assistant Manager at Dogs Trust Evesham, said: “It’s always sad when older dogs come to us after their whole world has changed but Spot has adjusted well and is a firm favourite with his canine carers.

“He has been with us for a few months now and we would love to find him a loving home once more where he can get back to his home comforts that he enjoys.

“We are looking for a calm and quiet home for Spot with owners who’ll give him plenty of time to settle – especially in a quiet bed. He is still fairly active for his age but likes quiet walks, followed by 40 winks in the afternoon.

“We know we can’t fill the space left by his beloved owner, only a new caring family can do that. But we hope it won’t be long before a new owner comes forward and gives him the love he deserves very soon.”
