Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 2nd Sep, 2018   0

I’M SITTING inside writing this on what is supposed to be August Bank Holiday Monday afternoon.

It would be nice to be sitting outside in the brilliant sunshine we have recently enjoyed but up above me there are dark skies with just the odd small sign of blue coming through.

British Bank Holiday weekends are notorious for bad weather causing our plans to be dashed with disappointment and frustration.

Thinking back to my childhood, summer was summer; winter was winter and spring and autumn played their part as well, so what has gone wrong?

The ‘experts’ try to give us all the different reasons why our seasons are now like they are, but do they really know?

I cannot go back to my enjoyable childhood, so I must live in today’s time with all its modern situations and problems.

Perhaps I should look on my world today with the childlike eyes that I had all those years ago.

On more than one occasion in the Gospels, Jesus Christ told us to become like little children and look through their eyes to see the reality of what he is telling us.

“To enter the Kingdom of Heaven, you must become like little children”, Jesus said.

To really see the reality of Salvation, which comes from God through Jesus Christ, we must look beyond the things that blind us and open our eyes to see the great love, which is ours to accept and know.
