WHEN watching television programmes such as ‘Homes under the Hammer’, I am invariably amazed at the low prices the people have said it cost them to carry out all the work.
How do they do it with such a low budget, when you see the beautiful homes which they create?
But of course people always want the best for their homes, especially when they are living there themselves.
At the moment I am renovating some of the buildings on my garden model railway and whilst not at an extortionate cost I still have to open my wallet to cover it all so they again look like the originals.
Of course whether real or model, we always have to make sure that we have a good foundation to build on, especially in life.
Jesus Christ told a story about two men who both built a house. The one built on sand and the other on the rock, which meant that the first house fell down in the wind and storms and the other stood solid.
He told this story to help us to realise when we take him at his word; believe it and live by it, we can face all that life brings so we can stand firm on the rock of God’s love through the Saviour Jesus Christ.
How strong and firm are our life’s foundations?
Are they on sand or rock?
