SUDDENLY the crowds disappeared from the showground and all the charity and trade stands were left with only the stallholders to brave the weather.
The people had run into the large marquee or the hall serving refreshments in order to avoid the driving rainstorm, which suddenly hit the Badsey Flower Show last Saturday afternoon.
After all the glorious weather we had experienced over the previous weeks, the second half of this very popular show became somewhat of a ‘washout’.
Such a disappointment to all those who had prepared so much for the day, especially having ‘battled’ against the high winds in order to erect their tents and gazebos earlier.
How life can change with circumstances moving from the good to the not so good experiences in a very short time. In St. Matthew’s gospel we read of the time when the disciples helped Jesus Christ as he miraculously fed over five thousand people from five loaves and two fish. What a tremendous and exciting experience for them.
But how quickly things can change. Just a few hours later, the disciples were in a boat crossing the Sea of Galilee when a sudden storm blew up and they were afraid and in fear of drowning.
Then Jesus came walking on the water to them and immediately he got into the boat the storm ceased and there was calm once again.
Letting Jesus Christ into our lives can bring times of joy and peace even in the midst of all our problems.
