Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 15th Apr, 2018   0

ACCORDING to reports, house prices are rising and new build homes are not as large as they used to be.

In 2007 my wife and I downsized from a spacious house, with a very large garden, to a small two-bedroom bungalow with a tiny garden.

Family and friends queried the move but time as shown that it was the best thing we did.

It is said moving house is one of the most stressful things which can happen to us, especially when we downsize and have to let go of so much that we have accumulated over the years.

We had to get rid of so many things which we realised we did not have room for and in fact we did not really need any more.

In the Bible, Jesus Christ said, “If anyone loves me, they will obey my teaching. My Father will love them, and we will come to them and make our home with them”.

Jesus also says, “In my Father’s house are many rooms and I am going there to prepare a place for you and I will take you to be with me for ever”.

By downsizing we had to forfeit so many things and when we turn to Jesus Christ as Lord and Saviour there may well be many things that we also have to let go of in our lives.
