Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 8th Apr, 2018   0

THE 5.2 MILE long Atlantic Ocean Road in Norway is preserved as a cultural heritage site and is classified as a National Tourist Route.

The road consists of eight bridges and runs across an archipelago of partially inhabited islands and skerries.

Approaching the Storseisundet Bridge, especially sitting in the front seat of a car, I felt quite uneasy, as the top of the bridge seemed to just fall away with nothing on the other side.

Of course it is an optical illusion and the road is there. This stretch of the highway has been filmed by many car manufacturers in their advertising campaigns.

The disciples of the Lord Jesus Christ must have felt that the road had ended and there was no way forward after he had been crucified and laid in a tomb.

But the road was still there because Jesus has risen from the dead and he is going to lead them on to a new life with boundless opportunities to share his love and peace.

Whoever we are, there will be times in our lives when the road ahead seems to just simply disappear and all appears to be doom and gloom.

Those are the times when the risen Jesus wants to come into our lives, to show us that there is still a road ahead and he wants to travel it with us.

Let us invite him to journey with us today, to experience the love and blessing that he brings to us from God, his Father.
