Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 4th Feb, 2018   0

THERE can be many times in our lives when we need the help of other people to enable us to reach our own ‘full potential’ in life.

At least one of the English Premier League football clubs has taken players from both the English and French lower leagues and turned them into first class team members. Some are even now playing for their respective countries in international games.

When we consider many of the great inventions in our world, we have to realise that those inventors were encouraged to reach their ‘full potential’ by other less significant people.

Where do we stand today? Are we waiting to reach our ‘full potential’ or do we need someone else to encourage us and push us along?

It is not so much new inventions that we need today, but more and more people living out their ‘full potential’ in the world around them for the betterment of their fellow citizens.

When he was first starting out on his earthly ministry, Jesus Christ walked along by the Sea of Galilee and chose some seemingly unimportant people and he turned them into those who would shake their world.

He transformed them from ordinary people into those who would share the life-changing message of God’s love to the communities around them.

We need to realise that the greatest ‘full potential’ that we can experience is knowing the love of God, alive in each of us through the acceptance of Jesus Christ as our Lord and Saviour.
