Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 28th Jan, 2018   0

‘A STITCH in time saves nine’ says the old proverb.

Eight years ago I purchased a pair of PVC curtains, each five feet wide and seven feet high for the front opening of a structure I had constructed to cover a swing bed in the garden. When closed these curtains were held together with a seven foot long zip.

Over the past few months the stitching holding the zip has rotted and eventually last week caused the zip to come away from the main curtains.

This week I had the zip re-stitched but realised I should have had the job done last summer when it would have been much easier to remove and replace the curtains rather than in the rain and cold at present.

Hindsight is a very wonderful thing and how often do we wish that we had done something different in the past.

How often have we said or heard it said, “I wished that I had done things differently in the past?”

In the New Testament of the Bible we are told, “Now is the time of God’s favour, now is the day of salvation”.

Jesus Christ came and lived on the earth in order to tell us, by his very life and death, of God’s favour and that now is the day of salvation.

Decisions made at the right time are all-important; so let us decide to come to God through the message that Jesus gives to each of us, today.
