Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 24th Dec, 2017   0

AT LAST Sunday evening’s BBC Sports Personality of the Year Awards, the tearful parents of Bradley Lowery received the ‘Helen Rollason Award’ on behalf of the six-year-old who sadly died in July of this year.

Bradley suffered with neuroblastoma, a rare type of cancer, but his positive attitude and cheery smile won him countless admirers across the world.

Whilst it is indeed a sad story, it is also very wonderful to see the way Bradley dealt with his illness and it showed through to all those who met him or saw him on the television.

At this Christmas time of giving and receiving, children like Bradley can teach us all a great lesson in being thankful for all things.

Jesus Christ said, “That we must be become like little children in order that we can enter the kingdom of heaven”.

These words from the one who was born as a baby two thousand years ago, became a refugee as a young child and then lived in a town with a very dubious reputation, are worth taking note of.

Jesus came to live amongst people like us and then for the last three years of his life went around doing good and sharing the Love of God with all he met.

Finally he gave his life in order that we could know more of God’s love and salvation.

Have a very Happy Christmas, but let us please remember why we celebrate and let Jesus Christ into our lives.
