Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 10th Dec, 2017   0

“WE SINCERELY apologise for the language you may have heard from the stump mic”, said the cricket commentator to the TV audience.

Likewise we can often hear a similar remark from the football commentator when expletives from the crowd are picked up over the microphones placed all around the pitch, during a televised match.

On the other hand we have the problem with TV programmes, which are very difficult to follow because of the shocking sound quality.

I have lost count of the number of times when I have had to rewind a programme in order to attempt to hear what was being said and being annoyed even then because I still could not fully understand it.

On many occasions we read in the Bible about listening to God. Jesus Christ, himself, said, “My sheep listen to my voice: I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life and they shall never perish, no-one can snatch them out of my hand”.

I always enjoy listening to someone who knows what he or she is talking about because they make the subject of their lecture come alive.

As we read the Bible it is just as if God and Jesus Christ were in fact talking to us face to face and longing for us to get to know them.

Why not read the Gospels and see if you can find that true for yourself?
