Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 13th Aug, 2017   0

RECENTLY we bought a new washing machine, delivered by two men who struggled to get it into our utility room.

Last Saturday a headline in the newspaper read, “Lighter washer that’s lost 2 stones”.

It seems that washing machines are manufactured with 2 concrete blocks in them to stop vibration during the spin process.

Now Nottingham Trent University has devised a plastic container that is filled with water after installation, cutting the transit weight of the machine by a third.

We save on two issues, cutting carbon emissions in the concrete production and less back injuries from the delivery.

I thought, “Why hasn’t this been thought of before?”

Some years ago I watched a series of films called ‘Fact and Faith’ produced by the Moody Institute in America that depicted a number of the modern manmade inventions.

The films went on to show when we study the animal and plant life of our planet the prototype of these inventions was already there.

The ‘Countryfile’ programme last Sunday showed so many plant species that are beneficial to our wellbeing and health.

In the first book of the Bible, Genesis, we read that God created the earth with its fauna and flora and he saw that is was good.

Look around our world, whilst so much has been decimated, there are still so many wonderful sights and sounds that we should treasure and be thankful for a loving creator God.
