Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 2nd Jul, 2017   0

“VISIT Santa in his Grotto from 1pm this Saturday in the Village Hall”.

Really, but we are still only in the month of June!

Looking further, of course, one realises that the poster has been attached to the lamppost since before last Christmas.

How often, as we walk along the streets of our village, town or city do we see posters on lampposts or telegraph poles that have been there for ages?

What a pity that those who had the enthusiasm to put up the posters did not have the same desire to take them down again.

How many of us are living in the past, fearful of letting go of that which we have grown so used to and yet it is so out-dated for today’s modern age?

When Jesus Christ was here on earth, he preached about the love of God in a new and vibrant way, which upset the religious leaders because they wanted things to always stay the same.

The message was the same that had always been there, but Jesus showed it in a new and more positive way.

That gospel of hope and love is still the same today, 2000 years later and relevant to each of us if we will acknowledge it in its reality and let it bring joy and peace to our lives.

Let us not live in the past, but live for today and accept the salvation and new life that Jesus Christ brings to our daily lives.
