“ITS NOT fair” is a comment that we must have heard many times during our lives and I am sure that is how the Nigerian Women’s Football Team felt after their defeat by England in the Women’s World Cup.
For 120 minutes of normal and extra time Nigeria had dominated the game but had failed to score a goal and so to penalties which England won by 4 to 2, which seemed so cruel to the losers.
So often in life we face situations and decisions which have gone against us and we have all said, “It’s not fair”, or words to that effect.
As Jesus Christ’s Disciples watched Him die on the cross, no doubt they echoed those words because their whole lives were seemingly about to change and the life, they were looking forward to, was being taken away from them.
But it was the opposite that happened, because all things were about to change for the better when Jesus rose from the dead and He led them into a new ministry that would take the gospel all over the world.
What was “It’s not fair” to them became the Good News of the Gospel down through the centuries and is still the same for us today as we accept Jesus into our lives now.
