STUART Broad retired as a professional cricketer at the end of the Fifth Ashes Test last weekend and he did it in style.
Not only did he hit a ‘six’ off the last ball he received as a batsman, but he also took the last two Australian wickets to win the match for England.
Sadly, we did not retain the ‘Ashes’, but it was a remarkable game to finish off the series and an amazing end to the fantastic career of a great cricketer.
He will surely have an impact on the lives of young cricketers today.
During my lifetime I have heard of so many people who have made a difference in every aspect of life and who have left their respective spheres with dignity and honour.
There have also been so many people that I have been privileged to know and who have left a lasting effect on my life.
Some have been for a short time whilst others have had a long-time contribution into my life.
The greatest influence has been knowing Jesus Christ as my Lord and Saviour and all those fantastic people that He has caused to have had an input into my life.
They may not have been famous but they were there at just the right time for every situation which I have faced.
Jesus would love to do that for each one of us as we face all the situations in our lives today.
