Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 11th Jun, 2017   0

AS I SIT and write this article the rain is pouring outside and the temperature has dropped considerably from the heatwave of a few days ago.

We ‘Brits’ live in a climate, which is so variable, and we have certainly learnt to be resilient to it.

Over the past few weeks we have had the horrors of Manchester and London with the indiscriminate deaths of so many innocent people, especially young ones.

In the aftermath of both atrocities this nation has once again shown a tremendous resilience as we have carried on with our daily lives and telling the world that we will not be defeated.

Down through the years Britain has faced numerous and varied challenges but she has faced them all with that tremendous resilience for which we are known worldwide.

Since its inception more than 2000 years ago, the Christian church has faced so many different problems and difficulties but the resilience of the bible message has seen it through.

Over the centuries there have been countless individuals, groups and governments who have endeavoured to rid the world of Christianity but the love of God, lived out through ordinary people, has seen it through even the darkest of hours.

None of us can predict or know the future but as we put our trust in Jesus Christ we can know the one who holds the future and we can be assured that whatever happens he will be with us at all times,  good or not so good.
