DOWN through the years, possibly decades or even centuries, there have been thousands of legacies when many individuals, charities and churches have been beneficiaries in the wills of wealthy benefactors and today the trustees of those recipients are finding it difficult to dispose of those assets.
This is especially true if it is with regard to land or property, because of the many legal and bureaucratic ‘red tape’ rules and regulations which are there today.
Of course, the original benefactors would in no way have envisaged, when with their generosity they bequeathed the benefits to the beneficiaries, the problems that are there now in our modern world.
This weekend is Easter Sunday, when we celebrate not just with chocolate eggs, hot cross buns and Easter bunnies but the fact that Jesus Christ was crucified on Calvary’s cross, outside the City of Jerusalem over two thousand years ago.
Because of this, God has left each one of us a legacy, but it does not come with many strings attached, or it’s hard to find, but with the simple request that we ask Jesus to come into our lives and accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.
As we sit and enjoy our chocolate eggs and hot cross buns, let us stop and realise why we are celebrating the holiday of Easter.
