Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 3rd Apr, 2023   0

EVERY day we hear about marches or demonstrations through the cities and towns of our nation.

Some are for good and worthwhile causes, whilst others are for an objection of one kind or another.

Whatever the reason, disruption and difficulties will be encountered by the general public because of road closures and the possible changes to public transport routes and times.

This weekend the church celebrates Palm Sunday when we remember the time that Jesus Christ rode on a donkey into Jerusalem causing a major ‘traffic jam’ in the city because of the vast crowds wanting to see Him and shout their support.

For Christians this is a very important time because it reminds us of the terrible agony and humiliation which Jesus endured from the religious leaders because they wanted to get rid of Him, for He was an embarrassment to them.

These leaders thought that by killing Jesus they had got rid of Him for good but the opposite was the reality.

His death began a new and more vibrant experience which we all can know as we accept Him into our lives as Lord and Saviour.
