Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 27th Mar, 2023   0

TRAVELLING around the British countryside we see so many things which typify the land which we call our home.

The rolling hills; the plush green meadows; the babbling brooks; the forest glades and especially the sheep and lambs grazing in the fields all remind us of where we are and that they are there for our enjoyment.

These are the first uplifting signs of Spring, telling us that better days are ahead with the lighter evenings and hopefully better weather.

I read this week that one leading environmentalist is advocating that we get rid of the sheep because they damage the wildflowers: cause soil erosion and flooding.

The newspaper article was entitled, “Baa-rmy idea to remove sheep from the British landscape”.

Sheep and their lambs have been in our landscape from time immemorial and will be there forever more.

The Bible is full of references to sheep and lambs with the greatest being the fact that ‘Jesus Christ is the Lamb of God who takes away the sins of the world’ and He brings New Life to all who believe in Him and who come to know Him as Lord and Saviour in their lives.
