Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 9th Jan, 2023   0

Last week I was at the Badsey Recreation Ground which has quite a number of very large trees round the edges of the field.

At the time workmen were carrying out some pollarding and one was right up in the top branches, which made me remark to the person who was with me, the following comment, “Rather him than me”.

All through my life I have never liked being high up without some very strong protection. This fear is known as Acrophobia.

The amazing thing is that I enjoy being in Ski Lifts or Big Wheels as long as I am in an enclosure which makes me feel safe.

I am sure that each person reading this will at some time or other in their lives have experienced some form of phobia or another and it is always good to have some ‘safety net’ to fall back on.

When Jesus Christ was hanging on the Cross, I am sure that there were those who may have looked up at Him and said, “Rather Him then me”.

But He was there as part of God’s plan of salvation to bring us new life through His death, as we accept Him as our Lord and Saviour.

I am so glad that over my life Jesus has been there as my ‘safety net’ in so many situations that I have faced.
