Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 1st Jan, 2023   0

This weekend we say goodbye to the year 2022 and welcome in 2023.

The past year has been a year of change, turmoil and disaster in many parts of the world.

In our nation and worldwide there was the great outpouring of grief at the death of our beloved Queen Elizabeth the second, who had reigned for so long that so many of us could not remember there being a King on the throne.

As we each look back over the past year there will be times of joy; of hope; of sadness and loss that has deeply affected us and our families.

In our world there will always be those times of uncertainty and distress.

As we contemplate the New Year, we will no doubt be wondering what it will bring into our lives and situations with times of good or not so good.

We can be assured of one certainty which will always remain constant, and that is the Love of God, which is given to us through His Son, the Saviour Jesus Christ.

We have just been celebrating Christmas when we remember the birth of Jesus in that stable in Bethlehem 2000 years ago but it also reminds us that He grew to be the Man who died on the Cross and rose again from the dead to bring us salvation.

As we look forward to the New Year, let us do so, daily, knowing the new life which Jesus wants to give to each of us.
