Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 13th Nov, 2022   0

THIS week I read that Sir Geoff Hurst, the only player ever to score a hat trick in a Football World Cup Final, had to go on the dole when his playing days were over.

How different today with players on mega money per week.

Personally, I prefer to watch a football match with excitement and end to end play than look at these prima donnas who spend most of the match just passing the ball around to each other and getting nowhere in the process.

What do we want, an existence that is boring and empty or a life that is full of excitement and joy.

When Jesus Christ was here on earth, He chose twelve ordinary men as His disciples and He led them on an exciting adventure as He taught them and the people the truth of God, His Father.

The people were looking for reality instead of the ‘waffle’ that the religious people gave them each week.

This weekend we are celebrating Remembrance Sunday, when we come together to be thankful for the sacrifices of lives which were laid down in order to bring us freedom and peace in our nation.

As we celebrate Remembrance Day by being thankful for those who brought us that freedom and peace, let us be thankful for Jesus Christ who died in our place to bring us salvation.
