Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 30th Oct, 2022   0

EVERY Monday morning my wife and I are part of a group of volunteers who manage a session called ‘Drop in’ for parents and toddlers.

During the morning Nursery Rhymes are played in the background.

My job primarily is to watch the door which means that I am sat around for quite a while. Consequently, I am continually listening to these songs, and they can become engrained in your mind with the words going over and over in your mind even during the rest of the week.

Trying to think of something of a serious matter, it can be most annoying when “I’m a little teapot etc” keeps going over in your mind.

I am told by the younger generation it’s called ‘ear worms’.

We live in a world where there are so many different voices all clamouring for our attention and each one trying to drown the others out.

In the Gospels we read of many times in which Jesus Christ had to take time out of His busy schedule in order to have times of quiet to be by Himself and meet with His Father, God.

In this busy world it is beneficial to have those times of quiet reflection and meet with the Lord so that we can be refreshed and revitalised to meet the demands of the needy world around us.
