Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 18th Sep, 2022   0

This year has been a time of celebration, change, challenge and now condolence as firstly we celebrated the Platinum Jubilee and now remember the Queen in her passing.

Watching the scenes on the television as the thousands stood to view the funeral corteges in both Scotland and here in England reflected just how much she was loved and revered in our nations and indeed in the whole world.

For seventy years she has been our Monarch and very few people can remember the time when she was not there with her enchanting smile to encourage us in all times and situations.

Her majesty was a person with a deep faith in Jesus Christ and she shared that with us, especially in her Christmas broadcasts.

In the famous Jubilee sketch with Paddington Bear she revealed that she had marmalade sandwiches in her handbag, but she also had a copy of the bible which she kept in that handbag.

As we mourn the Queen’s passing, let us look forward to a time of change and challenge as we welcome King Charles the Third as our Monarch.

Each of us will in the coming days face times of celebration, change, challenge and times of mourning but let us face the future with a hope in God and in the Salvation, Peace and Joy which we all can experience in Jesus Christ, His Son.
