Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 21st May, 2017   0

MY eldest granddaughter is getting married this week and she is hoping for a nice sunny day, but unfortunately as I write this at the beginning of the week, the weather forecast does not look so promising.

On the other hand, gardeners, growers and farmers are praying for rain so that the crops will not fail.

It would be ideal if we each could regulate the weather for our own piece of ground or for our own activity.

Sadly this is not within our remit and it is no doubt a good thing really, because there would be so many squabbles and disagreements.

Over the many months, the happy couple have planned and organised so many things but sadly the weather is something that they cannot account for.

Very often life is just like that as we plan our future but sadly it does not always work out the way that we want it to.

Those who followed the Lord Jesus Christ must have felt like that after his death, asking the question, “Why?”

We know the answer because we have been told the full story in the Bible that it was for our sakes it all happened.

Whatever our situation, we need to remember that Jesus did not stay ‘dead’ but he ‘rose again’ in order to bring New Life to people like us so that each sphere of our lives can bring good not only to ourselves but to others as well.
