Last weekend in sport, went from excellent to very mediocre for our nation.
With the newspapers and our television screens full of the success of the England Women’s Football Team becoming European Champions and the successes in the Commonwealth Games to the dismal display by the Men’s T20 Cricket Team, we experienced all kinds of emotions.
It is always great to see success and to be there to applaud it, but we must also bear in mind that the other team or the other competitors have a feeling of despair and loss.
There will always come times in life’s experiences when there will be the ‘highs’ and the ‘lows’ of success and failure.
During these times, can we be the one who can bring help and comfort to those in need around us?
We read in the Gospels of numerous occasions when Jesus Christ met many people who were feeling the despair and sadness of loss, but He came into their situations and totally changed those for the better.
Jesus told many stories and performed numerous miracles in order to bring people to know Him as Lord and Saviour.
Then after His death and resurrection His disciples went worldwide to share that Good News and through the centuries to bring millions to know the truth of the gospel and to experience the healing and salvation which that brings.
