Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 26th Jun, 2022   0

WE HAD driven our way through all the traffic, arriving at the Cricket Ground in plenty of time and all we could do was sit and watch the rain come down.

The three previous days had all been with glorious sunshine but now the weather had totally changed.

We were given a glimmer of hope that play might start almost two hours late with the match reduced to eleven overs instead of the scheduled twenty overs per side.

Sadly, just ten minutes before the new restart time, the rain began to fall even faster and so we were then on our way home not having seen a ball bowled all day.

How disappointing, because my son had purchased the tickets as a Father’s Day present, but then that is the English weather for you.

During everyone’s lifetime, disappointments can come in various shapes and sizes causing us sadness and grief.

In the Bible we read of countless people, including Jesus’ Disciples, who faced disappointing situations, but because they had a trust in God’s son, Jesus, they were able to commit those times to Him.

Whatever our situation we can say a prayer to God, through Jesus Christ, for guidance and help in times of trouble
