Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 13th Mar, 2022   0

AS I watch the different birds which come into our garden, I am amazed at their various antics.

There is a Wren which darts around the garden and seems to especially like the insects on the flowers in the pots near to the Patio Doors. How it sees them is so amazing.

A number of Blackbirds come into the garden because we put out apple cores and other treats for them but even though there is enough for them all, they still fight and scare each other away.

Then there are the Rooks which come and steal the bigger pieces of food and take it away to eat elsewhere.

What a picture of life in todays world, with the ‘bigger people’ seeming to get the larger share, others ‘fighting’ over the plenty and then the ‘little one’ happy to be content with what is available for them.

In the Parable of the Sower in the Bible, Jesus tells of the Farmer who went to sow the seed and some fell on stony ground, other on hard ground and other fell on good soil which grew and yielded an abundant crop.

When the Good News of the Gospel is proclaimed, there will always be that which falls on hard and stoney hearts whilst there will be that which will be grounded in peoples lives bringing forth salvation and eternal life.
