AS I WRITE this column, the weather is atrocious with the rain absolutely pouring down and certainly no sign of the sun at all. Simply walking a few steps from the car to the local shop this morning, meant that I was drenched.
On days like today, I have often used the phrase, “Above the clouds, the sun is always shining” in order to attempt to encourage those around me to look on the ‘bright side’.
If we take an airline flight it is not long after takeoff that we rise above the clouds and into the sunshine. A whole new outlook and dimension on what we see.
In the ‘darkness’ of the past months it has not been easy to adapt that thought into our every day experiences, but it is possible when the Light of God’s Love shines into our lives.
In the Gospels we read of countless people who were walking in ‘darkness’ but when Jesus Christ came into their lives it all changed and the ‘light’ flooded in.
There are so many difficulties and seemingly unsolvable problems around us, but through Jesus, God wants to bring the Light of His Love into our darkness so that we can live the lives that He intends for us to live.
