Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 14th Feb, 2022   0

A FEW evenings ago I switched on a lamp in the sitting room and immediately it flashed on and then went off with a bang.

I checked the bulb and found the filament to be damaged, so I changed it but the light still did not work.

I realised that I would have to do something which I had not done for a few years, I would have to change the fuse in the plug, which I did and immediately the light worked.

How often in life do we find that we have to do something which we have not done for a long time and sometimes it is not always a pleasant task.

Jesus Christ spent three years with His disciples and He reminded them many times there would come a time when something very unpleasant would happen to Him but they constantly told Him that they would never let it occur.

Because of the Gospel accounts, we know that it did happen.

Jesus had been explaining to them that He would die on the cross as God’s plan of salvation for them and for the whole world.

He went through all that in order for us to be able to experience the love, joy and peace that can be ours from God our Heavenly Father.

He brought the Light of God into the world for us.
