THIS Christmas we received a card with the following words on the front.
“It had cost them a fortune in PCR tests but they eventually arrived in Bethlehem”.
The sender thought that it was hilarious.
Of course it referred to what would be a modern day visit of the Wise Men to see the child Jesus and to bring Him their gifts.
Worldwide this Pandemic is causing so many difficulties in the ways of finance, livelihoods and health problems.
Christmas has been, once again, so different for most of us in that so many of our plans have had to be changed or cancelled.
As we think back to the visit of the Wise Men, we have to consider the many problems and difficulties which they had to over come.
We are not too sure from which country they travelled and for how long they had been travelling, but they continued onward ever following the star as it travelled on before them.
On Christmas Day, my wife and I travelled to Hampshire to spend the day with our daughter and her family and the journeys were horrendous with the amount of traffic, the mist and fog and the lying water on the road.
But it was worth the problems to be able to spend the time with them.
Life for us all is difficult at the moment but let us look for a bright New Year as we follow the Star to meet with the Risen Lord Jesus Christ.
