Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 5th Dec, 2021   0

WATCHING the football on the television last weekend, with many of the games being played in blinding snow, reminded me of a game I watched as a teenager in the late 1950’s.

Sitting behind the goal in the Double Decker Stand at the Filbert Street Ground of Leicester City we could only see as far as the half way line because of dense fog.

What was happening at the other end of the pitch could only be anticipated by the ‘oohs’ and ‘aahs’ of the crowd at the opposite end.

Sometimes life can be like that as we seem at times to be looking at it through a ‘blinding snowstorm’ or a ‘thick fog’ and are unable to see a way forward.

In the Gospels we read of a number of people who were blind and certainly could not see a way forward but all that changed when Jesus Christ passed their way.

He came alongside them and brought a whole new perspective into their lives so that they could see the future in a more clear way.

Whatever our situation, be it good or not so good, we can be assured that as we come to God in prayer, through His Son Jesus Christ, there can be ‘a light at the end of tunnel’.
