Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 10th Oct, 2021   0

WATCHING an Indian Premier League twenty over cricket game the other day on TV, my wife asked me why there seemed to be such a difference from the longer formats of the game.

Thinking that there must be a big difference between the red and the white cricket balls, I looked on the internet for an answer.

But even after reading the manufacturers comments, it seemed to me that the difference is in the mindset of the players, knowing that in the shorter games it is imperative that more runs are scored quickly.

There are times in our lives when we can feel pressurised to rush into things instead of proceeding at a more leisurely pace.

We need to follow Jesus Christ’s example and live life at a steady rate so that we do not ‘burn out’.

Reading in the Bible, we so often see that Jesus never ever rushed any where but that He always went forward at a pace that suited Him and His ministry to those around Him.

By doing so He was able to meet more people and to minister into their lives more effectively.

Even so, He lived life to the full, and by His example we can too, no doubt saving ourselves a lot of stress and strain.

Maybe, in that way, we could do ourselves and others more good
