Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 16th Apr, 2017   0

WE OFTEN hear artists and photographers talking about getting the correct composition of ‘dark’ and ‘light’ in their finished pictures and they will go to great lengths to achieve the right effect.

Daily we are used to living with the ‘dark’ of night and the ‘light’ of day.

In our lives there are good times and not so good times.

This weekend we think of the ‘dark’ of Good Friday when the disciples and friends of Jesus Christ faced the prospect of life without their leader, because he had been crucified on the cross.

Despair, sadness and bewilderment filled their lives as they watched him die in terrible agony.

In fact, we read in the Bible, that ‘darkness’ filled the whole earth for three hours in the middle of the day.

For three days those disciples and friends mourned and cried because of the ‘dark’ that had invaded their lives and they despaired for the future.

But the ‘light’ of Easter Sunday burst forth into their lives as Jesus Christ rose from the dead bringing joy, gladness and astonishment and a great new purpose to their lives.

Are we living in the ‘dark’ of not knowing Jesus or are we experiencing the ‘light’ of having him in our lives as Saviour?

On a ‘dark’ night I switch on the ‘light’ to enable me to see my way around, so at this Easter Time switch on the ‘light’ of the love of God through Jesus Christ and let it flood your life with joy and happiness.
