SOME years ago, my wife and I had a day trip to Weston super Mare, and it absolutely poured with rain for the whole time. In conversation with a young family who had been there for the week, we found that it had been like it for all the seven days, and they were totally distraught.
When our children were small, we lived in Anglesey, and we would be on the beach whatever the weather because so often we could see in the distance that the skies were brightening up and sunshine was on the way.
Life can be very much like that, with bad days affecting us and seeming to ruin everything, but in the distance, there is the glimmer of hope with the brightness beginning to show.
We read in the Bible that Jesus Christ met many people whose lives seemed to be perpetually in darkness, but he brought the Light of God’s Love into their lives.
Jesus came to show us that whatever our situation, he can bring God’s Love into our lives and help us to realise the potential that we have, in order to be the people, he wants us to be.
We live in a time when there seems to be so much unrest and discontent in our world that we need to have a focus on that which is worthwhile and beneficial for us.
By accepting Christ into our lives, we can achieve that focus for our own benefit and for that of others around us.
