Something to Think About

Evesham Editorial 21st Feb, 2021   0

ON MY model railway in the garden, I have a number of scale buildings made from different materials which have proved good or not so good over the years.

The top two suppliers, which I would give 9.9 marks out 10, are resin kits which I have assembled and painted. The third one, again a resin kit, I would give 7 out of 10.

A resin set which I bought ready-made was somewhat of a failure and I had to throw it away after four years, marks 2 out of 10.

Others were ready made concrete buildings with a mark of 6 out of 10.

The top scoring ones have stood the test of time and have been outside in all the varying weathers over the past fourteen years.

If I eventually need to have more buildings, then I know which companies to purchase from or recommend.

Jesus once told the story of two men who each wanted to build themselves a house.

The one built his home with foundations on the rock, whilst the other chose to build on the sand.

Of course, when the wind and storms came the house on the rock stood firm and solid whilst the other one fell down with a mighty crash.

Jesus told this story to encourage us to build our life foundations on Him who is ‘The Rock of Ages” as the hymn tells us.
